Cougars in the NFL: Week 7 recap

Puka Nacua

Nacua continues make history in his rookie season for the Los Angeles Rams. In a 24-17 loss to Pittsburgh, Nacua hauled in eight receptions for 154 yards, becoming only the second player in NFL history to earn over 700 receiving yards through the first seven games.

Nacua currently ranks third in the NFL with 752 receiving yards and leads the league with 58 receptions.

Kyle Van Noy

Longtime NFL veteran and two-time Super Bowl champion Van Noy registered five tackles and two sacks in Baltimore’s 38-6 rout of the Lions. He now has played 50 snaps for the Ravens and this workload is likely to increase as he continues to familiarize himself with the team’s defense.

Blake Freeland

Facing a tough task in his second start at right tackle against the Cleveland Browns, Freeland registered a PFF blocking grade of 44.3. Tasked with facing NFL All-Pro edge Myles Garrett, Freeland struggled in a 39-38 loss.

Taysom Hill

The Saints’ “Swiss Army Knife” enjoyed another vintage performance as New Orleans came up short in a 31-24 loss to the Jaguars. Hill ran the ball five times for 18 yards and a touchdown. He also hauled in four catches for 50 yards and was a pivotal part of a late comeback effort for New Orleans.

Tyler Allgeier

In a game where dynamic rookie Bijan Robinson was limited, Allgeier served as the bell-cow back for the Atlanta Falcons. Allgeier had 21 carries for a team high 59 yards. Even more impressive were his three receptions for 53 yards including a 43 yard reception in the 4th quarter. The Falcons moved to 4-3 after defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a game winning field goal.

Michael Davis

Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Michael Davis finished Sunday’s 31-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs with four tackles.

Fred Warner

Fred Warner again showed why many consider him to be the best linebacker in the NFL with a team-high 13 tackles in the San Francisco 49ers’ Monday night loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Warner also had a pass deflection in the 22-17 loss. He currently has 61 total tackles on the season to go along with two sacks and two interceptions.

Jamaal Williams

In his return from injury, Williams rushed for 14 yards on 5 attempts in the Saints 31-24 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
