The last time BYU and Texas Tech played against each other, there was a world war in Europe.
Their first matchup was held on Oct. 18, 1940, a year after the start of World War II. It’s now been 83 years and the two teams get to hit the field in Provo this Saturday.
The last time the Cougars and Red Raiders played each other:

In their 1940 meeting, Texas Tech beat BYU in a close game (21-20).
The two teams will play this Saturday, Oct. 21, at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah. Kickoff begins at 5 p.m., MDT.
If the Cougars can win this game, it will be BYU’s first win against the Red Raiders and BYU’s first win against a legacy Big 12 program since joining the conference.
