On Monday, Jan. 20, President Donald J. Trump was sworn in and took office as the 47th President of the United States of America. Trump is the second president in the history of the U.S. to serve two non-consecutive terms, returning after he stood in office from 2017 to 2021. He signed several executive orders on his first day as president. Some of those include declaring a national emergency at the Southern Border, directing U.S. withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement, granting pardons and commutation of sentences for those involved in the Jan. 6 Capitol Hill riots, delaying the TikTok ban, and renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
