Provo Bakery prepares for Thanksgiving

Bakery prepares for Thanksgiving

While Provo Bakery offers a variety of goods year-round, on the weekend before Thanksgiving, seasonal goods fly off the shelves.

Provo Bakery employees bake loads of loaves of pumpkin bread each day.

"As it gets closer to a holiday, we're making more than three batches," said Jacob Peña, manager of Provo Bakery.

One batch makes about twelve loaves.

As Thanksgiving approaches, pie orders are coming in.

Provo Bakery expects to have at least 100 pie orders in preparation for Thanksgiving this year.

To be ready to open at 7 a.m. each day, they start baking early.

"Our bakers come in at around 2 in the morning, and they get right to it," Peña said.

"I do the doughnuts and the cookies," Clara Williams, a decorator at Provo Bakery, said. "Right now we have these turkey cookies, and they've been really fun to make."

Working together, these bakers keep Provo Bakery running all autumn long.
