BYU closes WCC tenure with 10th straight Commissioner’s Cup

BYU is leaving the WCC with a bang.

With entry into the Big 12 creeping closer by the day, BYU has earned its 10th consecutive WCC Commissioner’s Cup for athletic excellence in its final season as a member of the conference.

The Commissioner’s Cup is awarded to the school with the best overall performance within conference play in the past year of athletics measured by an elaborate point system. BYU finished atop of the leaderboard with 93.5 total points, holding a five-point lead ahead of second place LMU.

In addition to the Commissioner’s Cup, BYU also clinched its 10th consecutive Women’s All Sports Award, denoting the most successful women’s athletic department within the conference. BYU finished with 59.5 total women’s points with a commanding 9.5-point lead.

In the Men’s All Sports Award standings, BYU finished fifth among 10 schools and 3.5 points out of first place.

BYU will officially exit the WCC and enter the Big 12 on July 1.
