BYU men’s swimming dominated in all events, beating Seattle University easily, 155-49, Saturday afternoon at the Connolly Center Pool in Seattle.

“This meet gave our swimmers the chance to swim some of the events they don’t usually get to,” BYU head coach John Brooks said. “It really paid off because we won every single event. It was also a great bonding experience for the guys before conference.”

After a tough loss last week to Utah in the Deseret Duel, the Cougars gathered themselves to beat Seattle in dominating fashion by winning every event, including setting pool records in the 400 medley (3:21.52) and 500 freestyle (4:35.67).

Freshman Rainer Ng led the charge in the first leg of the 400 medley, posting a time of 49.55-second backstroke split, and followed up his performance with a record-breaking time of 4:35.67 in the 400 freestyle.

Sophomore Jake Taylor, recently named as the MPSF/TURBO Athlete of the Week for Jan. 29, anchored the medley with a 100 freestyle split of 45.59, while also winning the 200 individual medley (1:52.95) and the 200 backstroke (1:51:77).
