The BYU men's volleyball team will continue its season after receiving an at-large bid to the 2017 NCAA Men's Volleyball Championship.

The Cougars will be the No. 3 seed and will face No. 6 Barton on Tuesday, May 2, at 4 p.m. MDT at Ohio State University's St. John Arena.

The winner of that game will face No. 2 Long Beach State in the national semifinal.

May 2 will mark the first-ever meeting between BYU and Barton and the first time BYU has ever played a Conference Carolinas team.

Six teams will participate in the tournament. No. 1 Ohio State (Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association), No. 2 Long Beach State (Mountain Pacific Sports Federation), No. 5 Penn State (Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association) and No. 6 Barton (Conference Carolinas) earned their respective conference's automatic bid.

No. 3 BYU and No. 4 Hawaii were the two at-large selections.
