BYU basketball earns No. 3 seed in NIT, to face UT Arlington

The BYU basketball team has been selected as a No. 3 seed in the National Invitation Tournament.

After finishing 22-11 on the season, BYU basketball will host No. 6 seed UT Arlington on Wednesday, March 15 at 7 p.m in the Marriott Center.

The UT Arlington Mavericks finished the season 25-8 and lost in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament semifinals to Texas State. The Mavericks made a splash early this season by defeating St. Mary's 65-51 in Moraga.

UT Arlington's leading scorer is junior forward Kevin Hervey. Hervey averaged 17.1 points per game and is also the team's leading rebounder, pulling in 8.6 per game.
