The BYU women's soccer team beat UNLV 2-0 tonight in the NCAA tournament,

Michele Vasconcelos scored for BYU in the 20th minute of the game off a pass that came from Ashley Hatch. Vasconselos's shot took a deflection in the box that beat the keeper and found the back of the net.

BYU entered halftime leading the game 1-0.

In the 47th minute of the second half Elena Medeiros found the ball at the back post and slid to put it in. Medeiros received the pass that came from Paige Hunt Barker who had dribbled into the box. Medeiros's goal put BYU up 2-0 and gave her six goals on the season.

The only yellow card of the game was awarded to BYU's Miranda Bailey Topham for challenging a player from behind.

BYU won 2-0 to advance into the second round of the NCAA tournament.  BYU will face-off next week against Oklahoma, after the Sooners beat SMU 1-0.
