Multiple BYU baseball players received West Coast Conference accolades on May 24.
Keaton Kringlen was named the WCC Freshman of the Year, Brennon Lund and Michael Rucker were named to the First Team All-WCC, Colton Shaver was voted to the Second Team All-WCC, Brennon Anderson, Tanner Chauncey, Hayden Nielsen and Eric Urry were Honorable Mention All-WCC. Daniel Schneemann joined Kringlen on the All-WCC Freshman team.
Kringlen hit .368 in the regular season. He played in 40 games and started 33 of them. He drove in 33 runs and took 18 walks.
Lund, a junior from South Jordan, Utah, batted .400 this season with two homeruns and 34 runs batted in. He stole 15 bases and drew 23 walks.
Rucker was the Cougars' ace this season. The junior transfer from Gonzaga went 11-0 in the regular season with 89 strikeouts in 94.1 innings with a 2.58 earned run average. He pitched 10 quality starts.
Shaver, a sophomore, had a .346 batting average. He drove in a career-high 57 runs and hit 10 homeruns.
The Cougars face Gonzaga on May 26 in the WCC tournament.
