BYU basketball head coach Dave Rose announced on Monday that sophomore guard Jake Toolson would be taking a leave of absence from the team due to medical reasons.

Toolson is averaging 3.9 points and 1.6 rebounds per game this season for the Cougars. He has played in all 10 contests for BYU and has started five.

The Cougars will return to action on Tuesday as they take on Harvard as part of the Diamond Head Classic.
