The No. 19 BYU women’s soccer team heads to Florida this week to play for its playoff life. The Cougars face the University of Colorado on Thursday and with a win will play again Saturday.

The Cougars are coming off a 4-0 thumping of Weber State last week. BYU is playing as well as anyone in the country, having won eight games in a row and 10 of the last 11. The team feels confident it can play with anyone and is ready for the challenges ahead.

“We know everyone is going to come out fighting this tournament season,” BYU goalkeeper Erica Owens said. “We are going to have to want it more than everybody else does, and I think we do.”

University of Colorado is coming off a 1-0 upset of No. 4 seed Denver, scoring off a free kick late in the game. The Buffaloes placed sixth this year in the Pac-12. If the Cougars beat Colorado on Thursday they will advance to face the winner of No. 1 seed Florida State and Ole Miss.

Thursday’s game will be held at Florida State’s soccer complex at 2:30 p.m. MST.
