Men’s BYU basketball: Two games in two days

The excitement of BYU basketball continues as the Cougars make their way back into the Marriott Center for a two-night extravaganza. The team will take on Mount Saint Mary’s Friday, Nov. 15, and Colorado Mesa Saturday, Nov. 16, at 7:30 pm.

The Cougars recently traveled to the Maples Pavilion to compete in ESPN’s Tip-off Marathon, where they outplayed Stanford 112-103. The Cougars have enjoyed an untarnished record this season and have been projected to finish second in the West Coast Conference behind Gonzaga.

Led by Tyler Haws, the Cougars hope to continue their undefeated season in the upcoming games against the Mountaineers and Mavericks. Haws averaged 29.5 points during the first two games against Weber State and Stanford. Matt Carlino also made a large contribution during the first two games posting an average of 24 points.

Mount St. Mary’s will come to Provo having lost its season opener against West Virginia 62-77. The team will be led by #23 Julian Norfleet, who scored a team high of 19 points.

The Mavericks will be coming off a two-game losing streak to compete against the Cougars. The team competed in the Dixie State Classic Nov. 8–9, where it fell to California Baptist University 79-89 and Dixie State University 81-85.

Both games will be played at 7:30 p.m. and will be televised live on BYUtv and broadcast live on the Cougar IMG Sports Network on KSL Newsradio 102.7 FM and 1160 AM.
