BYU women's volleyball dives into conference play in the Smith Fieldhouse Sept. 20 against No. 2 San Diego. After a victory against in-state rival Utah, BYU hopes to also take down the No. 2 team on its home court.
San Diego is 9-1 going into this match, and BYU is 7-3. San Diego's only loss came against then-No. 1 Texas.

San Diego returns five starters from last year’s squad that tied BYU for a first-place finish in conference play and a 21-7 overall record. Last season, San Diego and BYU tied for the league crown with BYU at 13-3.
This match will be the seventh between the Cougars and Toreros. Last year the series was split 1-1, with San Diego taking the most recent contest 3-2 at its home court. The Toreros lead the overall series 4-2.
The Cougars’ WCC home opener against the Toreros of San Diego will be televised nationally on BYUtv at 7p.m.
