California shot 43-under-par to easily take the victory. Fresno followed with six-under-par to take second, ousting BYU by just one stroke.
Zac Blair, Justin Keiley and Devon Purser each shot three-under-par to help the Cougars earn their third place finish. The Cougars' final round on Tuesday was the team's best round of the tournament.
'It’s a good team effort,' BYU coach Bruce Brockbank said in a news release. 'We played pretty good. You've got to hand it to the guys. Zac (Blair) came out and had kind of an average day and finished really strong. Devon Purser, it was great to see him step up shoot a 69, as well as Justin Keiley. It was a great comeback from yesterday.'
This is the Cougars' third top-three finish this year. The Cougars head to Pauma Valley, Calif. next week for the Triumph at Pauma Valley.
