The BYU basketball team's run of trying to lure one of the nation's top basketball recruits ended Thursday as Jabari Parker decided to go with Duke.
In a press conference on national television, Jabari Parker announced he has chose to play basketball for Duke. Duke is one of the most storied basketball programs in the nation.
Parker, who is Mormon, is listed as a 6-foot-8, 220-pound small forward. Last season he averaged 19.5 points, 8.9 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 3.3 blocks and 1.4 steals last season. He led Simeon High School to their third consecutive state title.
In October, Parker limited his choice of schools to five: Michigan State, Duke, Florida, Stanford and BYU. Parker visited BYU on November 24 and attended BYU's basketball game that night against Cal State Northridge.
