Luscious Slush Punch
Makes: 50 (4 ounce) servings
Prep. Time: approx. 15 minutes
Cook Time: approx. 5 minutes
Ready in: approx 8 hours 20 minutes
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups white sugar
6 cups water
2 (3 ounce) packages strawberry flavored gelatin mix.
1 (46 fluid ounce) can pineapple juice
2/3 cup lemon juice
1 quart orange juice
2 (2 liter) bottles lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
Directions:
1. In a large saucepan, combine sugar, water, and strawberry flavored gelatin. Boil for 3 minutes. Stir in pineapple juice, lemon juice, and orange juice. Divide mixture in half, and freeze in 2 separate containers.
2. When ready to serve, place the frozen contents of one container in a punch bowl, and stir in 1 bottle of lemon-lime soda until slushy.
Butterhorn Rolls
Makes: 32 rolls
Prep Time: approx. 20 minutes
Cook Time: approx. 10 minutes
Ready in: approx. 12 hours
Ingredients:
1 cup shortening
1-cup milk
1 1.2 teaspoon white sugar
1/2 cup arm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
2 eggs
1/2 cup white sugar
2-teaspoon salt
4-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1-teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup butter, softened
Directions:
1. In a small saucepan, combine shortening and milk. Heat until shortening is melted; set aside to cool. Dissolve the yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar in the warm water. In a large bowl, beat the eggs, 1/2 cup sugar, and salt together. Add the milk mixture and yeast mixture to the egg mixture, stirring to blend. Sift in the flour and backing powder, and mix well. Cover, and refrigerate overnight.
2. Divide dough into fourths, and on a floured surface, roll out into 1/2 inch thick circles. Spread surface with the soft butter. Cut each circle like a pie into 8 triangles, and roll up from larger to small end. Place rolls point side down on a backing sheet, and allow to rise until doubled, 3 to 4 hours. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C.)
3. Bake rolls for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.
Roasted New Potatoes
Makes: 8 servings
Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds small new potatoes (scrubbed)
3 cloves garlic (thinly sliced)
2 tablespoons olive oil or canola oil
1/2 teaspoon crumbled rosemary (optional)
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 400 ?F. In a large bowl, combine the potaoes with the garlic, oil, and rosemary, if using.
2. Transfer to a roasting pan and roast about 45 minutes or until golden and cooked through.
TIP: Look for smooth-skinned solid potatoes. Avoid potatoes that are blemished or sprouting and those with a green color, whitch will tastes bitter.
Honey Glazed Ham
Makes: 12 servings
Prep time: approx. 20 minutes
Cook Time: approx. 1 hour 15 minutes
Ready In: approx. 1 hour 35 minutes
Ingredients:
5 pounds ready-to-eat ham
1/4 cup whole cloves
1/4 cup dark corn syrup
2 cups honey
2/3 cup butter
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F ( 165 degrees C.)
2. Score ham, and stud with the whole cloves. Place ham in foil lined pan.
3. In the top half of a double boiler, heat the corn syrup, honey and butter. Keep glaze warm while backing ham.
4. Brush glaze over ham, and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Baste ham every 10 to 15 minutes with the honey glaze. During the last 4 to 5 minutes of baking, turn on broiler to caramelize the glaze. Remove from oven, and let sit a few minutes before serving.
Almond Buttercrunch Candy I
Makes: 3 1/2 pounds (56 servings)

Cook Time: approx. 20 minutes
Ready In: approx. 2 hours 30 minutes
Ingredients:
2 (11.5 ounce) packages milk chocolate chips, divided
2 cups butter
1 pound brown sugar
1 cup blanched silvered almonds, devided
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees F (95 degrees C). Grease a 14 X 19 inch cookie sheet.
2. Sprinkle one package of chocolate chips on prepares pan. Place in warm oven until chips melt, about 5 minutes. Remove from oven, and spread melted chocolate over bottom of pan; set aside.
3. In a large heavy saucepan over medium high heat, combine butter and brown sugar. Stirring constantly, heat to 300 to 310 degrees F, or until a small amount of syrup dropped into cold-water forms hard, brittle threads. Immediately remove from heat. Stir in 3/4 cup silvered almonds and pour onto pan with melted chocolate; spread mixture evenly.
4. Sprinkle remaining package of chocolate chips over the almond layer. The heat from the almond layer will melt the chocolate chips; spread melted chocolate evenly. Sprinkle remaining 1/4-cup almonds over chocolate.
5. Cut into squares, or allow to harden in a solid sheet and break it apart like brittle. Cool completely before removing from pan.
