Editor,
As a BYU alum and a U of U law student, I am greatly disappointed by law student Betsy Fowler (and any others involved) that cancelled the annual Race Judicata between the BYU and U of U law students.
The race was to be held on Saturday, November 22 at 9 a.m. Ms. Fowler sent an email to a U
representative on Friday at 12:18 p.m. somehow expecting that word would get out to everyone from the U that planned to attend. Furthermore, nobody left any signs at the BYU law building (the race's starting point) nor was there a representative indicating to potentially arriving participants that the race had been cancelled.
Fortunately, the U representative that received
the email made the trip to do so. Then Ms. Fowler has the gall to say they are planning a race the day the two basketball teams play. She had better provide free food if she really expects U students to come. To top it off, she proclaimed, 'We can drink you guys under the table too if that's ever an issue!' Though it seemed in jest, that's hardly the conduct of someone representing BYU. Of course, not all BYU law students stoop to such levels, but I thought I would let them know what kind of individual they have running their organizations and what kind of image she is portraying.
