Interesting article on the front page of The Daily Universe about not hunting. There are many problems with the logic used by Chris Foster and others opposed to hunting.
He tries to use the scriptures to propose his view, but he is simply not studying the scriptures enough. Brother Foster said: 'They are going to say He has given us animals to eat and wear. But every time it says that in a scripture, a few verses later, it says not to do so unless it's absolutely necessary.'
This is not a correct statement. Look at what Paul said about this subject: ' ... in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils ... and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving' 1 Timothy 4:1-4
Nowhere in the above does it say to only eat meat when absolutely necessary. But it does say that God has commanded us to use these resources with thanksgiving. And Paul also says in these days, seducing spirits and doctrines of devils will cause some to forbid eating meat.
I am not a hunter; I have never hunted. I am not against hunting but it just doesn't interest me. I agree that animals should be treated with respect, and should not be tortured. But they are for our use and hunting animals is not torturing them.
