Ignorance isn't bliss

Mormons are often considered sheltered. At this month's homecoming opening ceremonies a remark was made by BYU's alumni president that was not only sheltered but also ignorant. I brushed it off as ignorance to today's slang. However, while reading Wednesday's edition of The Daily Universe, I noticed the same phrase used yet again.

I'm sure many of you have heard the term 'fo shizzle' meaning 'for sure.' The 's' is simply added to the 'izzle.' This same concept can be applied to a variety of words. Both the Alumni President and the writers at The Daily Universe chose to use this slang, but did so ignorantly. They said 'fo shizzle my nizzle'. Though I am almost positive that they had no intention of saying what they did (since they had no idea what they were saying), they completely embarrassed BYU in doing so. The term 'fo shizzle my nizzle' means 'for sure my nigger.'
