Resolving to be better

By Christine Petersen

At the conclusion of the 173rd Semi-annual General Conference, President Gordon B. Hinckley said he hoped everyone who listened was strengthened.

Conference is a time for everyone, President Hinckley said. It''s not just for members of the church. He encouraged church members to step out of this world and meditate on the words of God. He also said testimonies need to be renewed everyday.

President Hinckley said he hopes that prayers of appreciation and pleas for help to resolve to be better will be offered to Heavenly Father.

He concluded that each of us should be a better man, woman, boy or girl. He thanked members of the church for being faithful.

'I pray that each of us will be a little more kind, a little more courteous,' he said. 'It is applicable in our lives. It can change our very nature.'
