Elder Charles Didier, of the Presidency of the Seventy, centered his Sunday morning comments around the question, 'Why?'
Elder Didier asked and answered several 'Why' questions with a religious timeline of continued revelation, apostasy and restoration.
'Missionary work is the responsibility of every member ... so that others may receive the saving ordinances,' Elder Didier said.
Elder Didier then turned to the history of religion. 'Religious history continuing revelation... to restore what had been lost because of continued apostasy,' he said. 'The message is clear, there is one fold, one faith and one gospel.'
Speaking of modern restoration, Elder Didier highlighted the date 1820 and the name Joseph Smith.
Elder Didier said 'divine testimony' and 'direct revelation' began the restoration again. 'In 1830, The Church of Jesus Christ was restored.'
'The Book of Mormon is the modern, convincing evidence ,' Elder Didier concluded. 'It answers the ultimate question ''why?'' The message of the restoration is true because it is divine.'
