Do you find yourself checking your watch every five minutes? Do you become enraged when a friend shows up two minutes late? Do you have trouble sleeping for fear you won''t wake up on time?
This restlessness does not have to continue. You can take charge of your life and end your obsession with punctuality now and forever.
Hi. My name is Sunny and I''m a recovering punctuality-aholic. I''m here to let you know there is hope. Just follow this comprehensive program and you will see results.
Step one: Adopt the motto: There is always enough time. Repeat in front of the mirror daily.
Step two: Go for the natural approach. Throw out that plastic alarm clock. Trust your body. It can do the job just fine.
Step three: Don''t do your laundry. Hamper-digging can be fun. Hey! There''s that sweater you wore last week. Good as new.
Step four: Wait until you see the red light on your gas gauge before filling up. A fun game is to see how long you can go before running out.
Step five: Turn on the TV. Will Jane choose Tommy or Billy? Better stay tuned to find out!
Step six: Throw out routines - they''re for uncreative minds. Did Thomas Edison live from nine to five? I think not.
Step seven: Concentrate on when an event begins, not on how long you will take to get there. Class starts in 15 minutes? Don''t worry. Plenty of time to shower.
Step eight: Sign-up for 18 credits, get a job and volunteer in the community. Need I say more?
Step nine: Always finish what you''re doing before starting something else. Assembling that model airplane could make you as much as a week late. Expert territory.
Step ten: Realize that your priorities are more important than other people''s. Act accordingly.
Step eleven: As you go out the door, think details. Did you finish that term paper? Are all four food groups present in your lunch? Are you still wearing your pajamas?
Step twelve: Have children. Little munchkins have a knack for causing clean-up jobs just when it''s time to go. But please, folks, don''t have children until after you''re married.
