Just one mention of the four letters LSAT, and many law school hopefuls'' hearts begin to palpitate. They start biting their nails at a frenzied pace and find themselves running for the comfort of Ben and Jerry''s.
If you find yourself in this agonizing position, have no fear! The 'How To Ace the LSAT' 10-step approach is here.
Step one: Visit the BYU Prelaw Advisement office at 3234 WSC. Ask them all the questions you can think of and take notes.
Step two: Purchase a reputable LSAT test-prep book. Devour it.
Step three: Invest in a reliable prep class. You will receive one-on-one training and customized help.
Step four: Choose a test date that will give you ample time to study. Instead of signing-up for a test next month, try for a test in three months or more.
Step five: Set aside a three hour (or more) block each week to do a different practice test. Try to make your test-taking surroundings as close to the real test environment as possible. You can go as far as sitting in a hard classroom chair and ask a friend to be a proctor and time you. When the big day comes, you will know what to expect.
Step six: Spend the rest of your week researching test answers, especially the ones you got wrong.
Step seven: Pray - a lot.
Step eight: Put pictures of famous lawyers like Gloria Allred, Johnny Cochran and Abraham Lincoln around your living space to inspire you. Imagine yourself conquering the legal world.
Step nine: Drink plenty of water and exercise regularly. A healthy body is a healthy mind!
Step ten: Get a generous amount of sleep. Nothing can substitute for this.
