Why do we have the word edible? You can't ed something, you eat it. If anything, the word should be eatable (meaning able to be eaten). Edible simply does not make sense. You can't ed food, and the suffix -ible has no meaning in relation to the word ed! Why do we put up with garbage like this? Day after day, week after week and year after year we are constantly bombarded with ridiculous situations and events such as this.
Our mental sanity is important and it's about time that we take a stand and face up to the absolute idiocracies that bog us down on a continual basis. We're talking about freedom here. Freedom to do and say what we want, and most importantly, freedom from stupidity. There is already enough stupid out in the world today, we do not need to add to it (Gary Coleman running for governor, need I say more?). The only way to combat this grave issue, with which we all struggle, is for us to band together.
One person can make a difference. Join together and fight for all that is right that is still left in this world. Write a letter to your local representatives letting them know how you feel. Inform them of the struggles you've had to endure and of the freedom you are seeking. Tell them that the first step of this complex and slow-revolving process we call change is going to happen right now. Tell them to remove the word edible from the English language. We don't want to see it; we don't want to know it; we definitely don't want our children to grow up knowing it. The nonsense must stop now. Not tomorrow -- today.
