All-Sport passes still available

By W Kolditz

About 5,600 All-Sport passes still remain for interested students to purchase.

BYU''s athletic marketing director Tony Jewkes said fewer than 13,000 of the 18,600 All-Sport passes have been sold.

The passes get students into all home football and men''s basketball games as well as many of the other varsity sport events on campus.

'Whether you really like sports or not, we offer over 100 student activities a year,' Jewkes said. 'It''s a great social opportunity for students.'

Among the passes left, about 1,600 rotating seat tickets still remain. Jewkes said urgency to acquire rotating seats still remains, but after the rotating seats are gone, plenty of end-zone seats are available.

This is the second consecutive year All-Sport passes have increased in value. The passes increased from $75 to $85 this year.

'Prices have been raised, but what we''re trying to do is add more value to the cards,' Jewkes said. 'We will constantly try to find better value for the All-Sport holders.'

All-Sport cardholders will receive special deals at the football concessions stands. The special deals vary each game. Cardholders will be e-mailed the details of discounts before each home game.

Discounts for the football game against Stanford include a free popcorn with the purchase of a 32-ounce soda.

Students who purchase the All-Sport pass will also receive a coupon for a Cougar Blue t-shirt at the BYU bookstore. With the coupon, students can buy the shirt for $4 rather than the usual $10.

All-Sport can be purchased at the Marriott Center Ticket Office between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

Students can purchase up to two passes, but student ID is still required with the pass to enter the game. Students wishing to allow others to use the All-Sport pass can do so, but the person needs to buy a $5 guest pass per football game and $3 per game for all other sports.

Without an All-Sport pass, individual game tickets for students cost $14 except for the game against the University of Utah when the tickets rise to $17.

Fans also can no longer bring any outside food and beverages, including bottled water, into the stadium. Other restrictions include no backpacks, large bags, large purses, cans, coolers, umbrellas, fireworks and weapons.
