Letter to the Editor: Exposing censorship

I see that BYU, in showing a film, skipped over a scene because it contains nudity. The original Christians left no record of such extreme body phobia. It's an accretion from as long ago as Augustine, with plenty of later writers outdoing even him on how to loathe the body.

Two students' father complained that the film was pornographic. Why should he control a class when he isn't enrolled and his ignorance is so obvious?

He and the official BYU policy reveal a classical obsession - with sex. They spend inordinate time or energy suppressing it, they see it where it doesn't exist, they overreact to any trace of it, and they feel anxious not doing something about it.

Apparently, BYU doesn't want its students to grow up. This episode also teaches them that their elders are fearful and irrational.
