Hundreds of hikers were stranded near Mount Everest on Oct. 6 due to a powerful blizzard that showered the Himalayas. On Oct. 5, roughly 350 hikers made it to the eastern slopes of Everest. Authorities made contact with an additional 200 hikers who were also stranded.
