Ilia Malinin, 20, became the first skater to land all six quadruple jumps in a single performance at the World Figure Skating Championships in Boston on March 29. He is the sixth American to win consecutive world titles. In his 4-minute, 13-second routine, Malinin landed a quad flip, quad axel, quad lutz, quad loop, quad toe loop, quad salchow, a sidewinding aerial, and a backflip. His performance earned 318.56 points, finishing an impressive 31 points ahead of runner-up Mikhail Shaidorov.
