Video of the Day: SLCPD officer shoots dog after getting bit

The Salt Lake City Police Department released body camera footage of an incident involving a dog that bit an officer and was then shot by that officer. It happened during a trespassing call around 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, March 23. The dog, which was not fully restrained, bit the officer and later charged at him again, prompting the officer to fire the gun. The dog was critically injured and had to be euthanized. The officer is recovering from the bite which was not life-threatening.
