A partnership in East St. Louis, Missouri is underway as local sheep rancher Curtis Thompson teams up with solar company Pivot Energy. Thompson rents his flock to the company to naturally maintain their solar sites, a win-win for both sides. The sheep provide eco-friendly lawn care by grazing around the solar panels. In return, the animals get free pasture, allowing Thompson to expand his herd without purchasing more land. The solar site helps power about 80 homes through a southern Illinois power cooperative.
