A powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar on Friday, March 28, causing destruction across Southeast Asia and leaving hundreds dead or missing. In Bangkok, Thailand — 600 miles from the quake’s epicenter — water was seen spilling from a rooftop pool as people fled during the shaking. Also in Bangkok, a high-rise under construction collapsed, killing at least eight and leaving more than 100 unaccounted for, with rescue efforts still underway.
