Utah's winter roundup: Where ski culture meets cowboy heritage

A skijoring event brought ski culture and cowboy heritage together in Downtown Salt Lake on Saturday, Feb. 8. Skiers held a tow rope as they were pulled by a horseback rider over jumps competing for cash prizes in novice, intermediate, and pro categories. The word skijoring comes from the Norwegian “skkijøring,” which means “ski driving.”
