Texas traffic jam after cattle run loose on I-45

While returning home from the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, six steers escaped from a trailer carrying 31 total on I-45 North Freeway near Spring, Texas, on Monday, March 24. The trailer door reportedly came unlatched, sending some of the cattle running on the freeway and others into nearby wooded areas, causing major traffic delays and a search that lasted several hours. All steers were safely captured and returned to the trailer later that afternoon.
