Saratoga Springs New York Patrol Division officers sprang into action on Monday afternoon, Feb. 24, after receiving a 911 call that a horse had fallen through ice on a frozen pond. The animal was unable to get itself out of the pond and was in imminent danger of freezing to death. Officers worked alongside the horse’s owner, using ropes to pull the animal from the icy water to safety. Once on solid ground, the horse was able to stand and was taken to a veterinarian for care.
