Students choose shoe comfort over style
BYU nursing student Emma Clyde looked outside her bedroom window in January and saw snow falling heavily all over campus. So, she put on her heaviest and most durable snow boots instead of the suede booties she was hoping to wear.

Too cool for school
Consider how often you’ve heard the following statements: “You don’t need to read the book, just go to class.' 'It’s OK, I went to class once a week and still got an A.' 'I started my paper the day before it was due and just pulled an all-nighter to finish it.”

The campus is not your world
When I was 18 and realized I'd be attending BYU, my native Los Angeleno self was not too pleased. I knew I'd receive a great education, but living in tiny Provo, with the nearest big city an hour away, did not have a great appeal. Add in the fact that winters here involve temperatures below 60 degrees, and I knew my life was about to be overhauled.

The cost of a volunteer military
During my first semester at BYU I was walking home from church in the Harmon Building. I was accompanied by my roommate, who commented on the fact that the University hadn't done much to commemorate September 11th that weekend. She said she liked it and was pleased to not attend another ceremony of mourning.

Opinion: Take Responsibility For Your Family's Future
“I wish that I had known more about my options back then.” My mother had been in strenous pain for hours before the doctor rushed into the room, turned to my dad and suggested a Cesarean birth. Looking between his exhausted wife and the doctor, my dad didn’t know what to do, but finally he gave in to the doctor’s suggestion.
