Jerry Sandusky sentenced to at least 30 years

BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) — Jerry Sandusky was sentenced Tuesday to at least 30 years in prison — effectively a life sentence — in the child sexual abuse scandal that brought shame to Penn State and led to coach Joe Paterno's downfall.

'I think that morality is the most important characteristic in modern society and the most lacking, but I'm not sure to what degree Paterno is responsible for Sandusky's actions. ... I think that as amateur athletics become more in the spotlight they undergo much greater scrutiny, and they are held to a much higher standard.'
