BYU football commits are trickling in following the national attention the team received for its early success this season. Within just four days following the Boise State game, BYU received official commitments from three players. Since then the team has received one additional commitment with another potential commitment in the coming week.

Social media transforms the world of sports

JP Gibson, a 5-year-old from Utah, with leukemia, wanted to play for the Jazz his whole life. The Jazz organization helped Gibson get on the court and play with the team in a scrimmage. When Gibson entered the game, the crowd went wild. Jazz center Rudy Gobert hoisted Gibson up toward the basket during the scrimmage and helped him dunk it.

In November 2007, Ryan Shay collapsed after only 5 1/2 miles of the US Olympic marathon trials. In July 2012, former Stanford University basketball player Pete Sauer collapsed while playing a friendly game in his adult recreational league. In October 2012, the BYU swim team went up against the University of Hawaii when Hawaii swimmer 'Peter' Frank Chi was found unresponsive in his dorm room post-meet. Chi was a rare case who knew about his heart condition and took precautions but still died as a result of his heart condition.

It's a typical Friday night: 6 p.m. and the place is packed, everyone's hungry and can't wait to be seated. The restaurant lighting is dim, but people still notice he's there. Some people do the obvious double take, others continually glance out the corner of their eyes, while the ambitious take it head on. 'Hey! It's Brock Zylstra! Good luck this year, man.'
