After dominating at the Big 12 Conference championship meet on Nov. 1, both BYU cross country teams head to Reno, Nevada, this weekend for the NCAA Mountain Regional meet.
The women’s team brought home its second conference title and the men brought its first from the Big 12. This season is the fifth time since 2018 that the Cougars have both won conference titles.
Perhaps BYU is a running school more than anyone thought?
As BYU preps for this weekend, the Cougars have their sights set on the national championship.
Men’s coach Ed Eyestone said, “Everything from here on out is just pointing towards nationals. … We want to run as hard as we need to qualify, but not any harder than that.”
The team seems to be confident and feeling good. In a recent Instagram post, it proclaimed, “When BYU shows up, it’s game over.”
