Tatum Otto commits to BYU women's golf

The BYU women’s golf program is welcoming a top-tier recruit to its roster.

Coach Carrie Roberts officially announced that Washington native Tatum Otto will join the Cougars beginning the 2026–27 season after she graduates from Bellevue High School in Bellevue, Wash.

Otto arrives at BYU ranked No. 4 in her class statewide, bringing a résumé marked by consistent excellence. During her final high school season, she helped Bellevue secure a third consecutive Washington 3A state championship.

In the 2025 state tournament, Otto also finished as individual runner-up, adding to a string of high-level performances that first put her on BYU’s radar.

Just two weeks before that finish, Otto led Bellevue to a victory at the KingCo 3A Golf Championship, where she won both the team and individual titles.

Her success extends outside high school golf. This year, Otto won the girls’ division in the state-level match play tournament run by the Washington Junior Golf Association (WJGA) and placed runner-up at the PNGA Junior Amateur. Her 2024 season included a win at the WJGA’s Joel Dahmen Invitational and a runner-up showing at the WJGA Western Open.

On the national junior stage, Otto also represented Washington on the elite Girls Junior Americas Cup team, gaining experience against top competition from across the country.

Roberts offered glowing praise for Otto, emphasizing the fit both athletically and culturally.

“We are super excited about Tatum joining our team,” she said. “She’s a great fit for who we are not just because of her talent, but because of her character. She’s competitive, driven and cares deeply about her teammates. I know she’ll help elevate our team both on and off the course. On the course, she’s shown she can win and go low, and we’re confident she’ll make an immediate impact at the collegiate level.”

As BYU prepares for its third Big 12 season, Otto’s signing adds potential to a roster already looking ahead to competitive challenges. With her track record of strong finishes, steady nerves and team mentality, she could join in as an impactful contributor early in her Cougar career.

For Otto, the move to BYU represents a significant step forward, one paved by hard work, ability and a clear vision. For BYU women’s golf, it’s a commitment that could result in wins and sustained success.
