How a snow delay turned into snowball fight for BYU baseball

At 1:05 p.m. Saturday, the BYU baseball team planned to play game three of a series against the UCF Knights.

But the weather had other ideas as snow began to cover the field. With home plate and the white bases obscured by the white snow, the decision was made to delay the game not once, but twice.

However, the team made the best of the conditions by having an impromptu snowball fight on the field. Several Cougars were found throwing snowballs at each other and playing some different snow games.

UCF appeared rather intrigued with snow coming from sunny Florida.

The operations and grounds crew brought out snow plows and snow blowers to clear the field making it seem as though a snow storm had never occurred.

After roughly two hours the Cougars were able to get the field cleared allowing the game to continue. Even with the weather delay, about 1,500 attended at Larry H. Miller Stadium.
