'Crusin’ with the Cougs' sailing event off to a fun-filled start
ENSENADA, Mexico — More than 3,000 people boarded Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas ship in Los Angeles, California, on Friday.
Each and every passenger was a BYU fan.
The ship presented an enormous BYU banner along the side of the boat, sharing Cougar spirit loud and proud. This marks the first-ever "Cruisin' with the Cougs" extravaganza at sea.
To start off the sail, the ship provided an opening kickoff — a show to welcome and excite passengers as well as recognize some of BYU’s best.
Among the list were Tom Holmoe, Jimmer Fredette, Kalani Sitake and many more.
Coaches and players of the women’s soccer, volleyball and Cougarette teams were recognized as well as members and alumni of BYU football and basketball.
In a joking spirit, an Andy Reid look-a-like was even invited to shock crowds.
Once the kickoff was over, guests were invited to participate in a plethora of activities on the ship.
Activities which included a silent disco, a delicious dinner at the Windjammer, swimming or hot tubbing on deck 11 and much more.
The ship sailed through the night. Its destination: Ensenada, Mexico.
Saturday morning, guests had the opportunity to leave the ship and explore the many sights and experiences Ensenada has to offer.
Many other guests chose to stay on the ship and enjoy its numerous amount of amenities.
During the day, the Navigator of the Seas provides FlowRider experiences, cupcake decorating classes, water slides, free soft serve ice cream cones and even an immersive escape room.
Cougar fans are loving their time on the water.
As this cruise sails on, those aboard continue to create more life-long memories together as they share their support and love for BYU.
