Cougar fans show out for incredible game day experience

This weekend may have been one of the biggest in BYU sports history.

Provo was the host for Fox’s "Big Noon Kickoff" show, which marked the first time ever that Fox had its game day pregame show at the home of the Cougars.

BYU was undefeated heading into the weekend and hosting an explosive Big 12 opponent. It was also a huge recruiting weekend for the Cougars. All of this happened to fall on the school’s homecoming weekend as well.

Fans started lining up for "Big Noon Kickoff" as early as 11:30 a.m. on Friday so they could get a good spot at the show. Fans camped out overnight and tailgated in the early hours of the morning while they also experienced "Big Noon Kickoff."

Students and fans brought the energy all morning, showing off their creative signs and showing the rest of the country that Provo is a special place for college football.

With it being homecoming at BYU, alumni and fans from all over the country traveled to Provo to be a part of this historic game day experience. BYU football legends such as Steve Young, Gifford Nielsen, Fred Warner and Puka Nacua were all in attendance for the Cougars matchup with Arizona.

Fans braved the unusually hot October afternoon and packed into LaVell Edwards Stadium. It had a sellout attendance of 64,420. The ROC was fired up all day, making life hard for the Arizona offense when it mattered most.

The Cougars were able to overcome a slow start and take over the game in the second half. Four turnovers forced by the defense helped fuel BYU’s dominant 41-19 win over the Wildcats to remain unbeaten at 6-0.

Over the weekend, BYU hosted the consensus No. 1 basketball recruit in the class of 2025, AJ Dybantsa, and his high school teammate, four-star JJ Mandaquit. There were also many football recruits in attendance for Saturday’s game as well.

Dybantsa is regarded as one of the best high school basketball prospects in recent memory. The 6-foot-9 forward stars at Utah Prep in Hurricane, Utah. Dybantsa has won gold in FIBA with the United States the last two years while playing with the U16 and U17 teams.

BYU fans showed up and showed out all weekend long. It was a game day experience that Cougar fans will always remember.
