BYU's veteran guard Dallin Hall enters the transfer portal

Another player has hit the transfer portal for BYU. This time from a veteran point guard who has been a main part of the Cougars' rotation for three years.

Dallin Hall announced on his Instagram Wednesday afternoon that he is entering the transfer portal.

Hall, who committed to BYU out of Fremont High School in 2020 before serving a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was the starting point guard for BYU in his freshman and sophomore seasons.

This year Hall was benched for NBA Draft lottery hopeful, Egor Demin.

Over three seasons, Hall averaged 7.7 ppg, 4.2 apg, and 2.5 rpg.

"I will always be extremely grateful for the love and support I received from everyone associated with BYU," Hall said on Instagram.

"While this decision has been very difficult, I know my time at BYU has prepared me well for the next chapter in my basketball journey," the veteran point guard added.

Hall is the third player from BYU's roster to enter the portal. Freshmen Kanon Catchings and Elijah Crawford entered days after the Cougars' loss to Alabama in the Sweet 16.

This decision from Hall could be due to playing time next season, as star guard Demin may come back for a second season and head coach, Kevin Young, is actively recruiting guards in the portal.
