BYU women's soccer earns bounce-back shutout win

The BYU women's soccer team has been winless for nearly a month. In their past four games, the Cougars have been denied the taste of victory with two ties and two losses.

Once ranked No. 3 in the country, BYU has struggled this season with the loss of a plethora of seniors to the major leagues. Wednesday night was the chance to bounce back and get back in the win column.

The Cougars shutout the Boise State Broncos at South Field, scoring two goals to grab the win, 2-0.

In just the 15th minute, true freshman Ella Labrum scored her first career goal off of a cross from fellow freshman Emma Hamberlin.

It didn't take BYU long to get on the board again with a scorching top corner goal from another freshman, Halle Dixon, in the 35th minute of the first half.

The second half remained scoreless for both teams. Cougar goalkeeper Lynette Hernaez ended the night with three saves.

BYU travels to Arkansas to face the Razorbacks this Saturday.
