BYU women's volleyball middle blocker Brielle Kemavor was named the Big 12 co-defensive player of the week.
This is the second time she has won a Big 12 award this season. Kemavor was named the Big 12 defensive player of the week in late October.
Kemavor was honored this week for her part in the Cougars 3-0 sweep against Houston and the win against UCF. The Virginia native led the Cougars with 13 blocks against the team’s Big 12 opponents.
The middle blocker currently leads the Cougars with 131 total blocks this season and has been performing consistently. Not only has Kemavor been great at defending, but she is also an offensive threat.
She had four kills against Houston out of 10 total attempts. The BYU sophomore has also had 371 total kills this season, making her a dominant presence on the court.
This is the third conference honor this season for the Cougars. Setter Alex Bower was the first Cougar to win an award this season as rookie in the week back in early October.
BYU is next set to host the Cincinnati Bearcats on Nov. 21.
