As the season comes to an end for men's track and cross country, BYU has signed major transfer portal runner Thomas Boyden.
Boyden, an Utah native from Salt Lake City, has spent the last five seasons running for Stanford. He is coming off a terrific year in Palo Alto, California, having one of the fastest seasons in Stanford history.
The graduate transfer runs a 3:57.35 mile, as recorded at the UW Preview/Mile City meet. He ran his personal best in the 3K with a time of 7:41.85, alongside shaving nearly 12 seconds off his 5K personal best, running a time of 13:21.92 at the Husky Classic.
Boyden will begin running with the Cougars in the 2025-2026 seasons for track and field and cross country. BYU welcomed the runner on social media, posting on Instagram with the caption, “Welcome home, Coug."
