BYU softball announced its 2025 signees Wednesday.
These are players that signed to play with the Cougars and are part of the softball 2025 class.
Since the end of last season, coach Gordon Eakin has been trying to find the best players possible to add to his roster. He has had some impressive transfers that have showcased their skills during their fall exhibition games.
Four high school players have signed with BYU, including Alyssa Gradjeda, a third baseman from Rancho Santa Margarita, California. Another infielder that also signed today with BYU is Irma Urincho. Urincho plays first and third base and is from Anaheim, California.
Another signee was pitcher Rita Tavita. Tavita is from Salt Lake City and is currently at West Jordan High School. Lastly, Kaiya Fabela, catcher, also signed to play with the Cougars.
Tavita is said to be incredible on the mound with a variety of different pitches and speeds that could be an addition to the pitching staff.
These athletes have been extremely successful in high school and in their club teams.
Eakin emphasized that each player will have an impact and important role on the team. He specifically mentioned how well they are all able to hit the ball and how much of a role they will make on the offensive side of the ball.
BYU is excited to welcome these 2025 signees. These athletes are still in high school and they are riding out their senior season before they officially start with BYU for the 2026 season.
