BYU men's soccer set to compete for 5th straight national championship

BYU men’s soccer is set to compete for its fifth straight title in the 30th NIRSA National Soccer Championships on Nov. 21-23 in Round Rock, Texas.

BYU was the first team selected in the tournament, joining pool A alongside Boston University and Nebraska, two teams making their first appearances in the tournament.

The championship bracket consists of 24 teams divided into eight pools. Each pool will play both teams and the top two teams from that pool will advance to the single-elimination bracket. The third-place team will be placed in a separate consolation bracket.

Undefeated BYU is set to play both teams from their pool on Nov. 21. They will face Nebraska, which is 6-2-4 on the season out of region five, at 8 a.m. CST.

Later that evening, BYU will take on Boston University, which is 10-2-2 out of region one, at 6:30 p.m. CST.

The single-elimination tournament will occur on Nov. 22-23 following the pool play, when BYU will look to win its fifth straight title and sixth in the last seven years.
