BYU men's soccer partners with Minky Couture to deliver baby blankets to Utah Valley Hospital

After winning its sixth consecutive national championship, the BYU men’s soccer team wrapped up its fall season by giving back to the community that has supported them all year long.

On Thursday, the Cougars partnered with Minky Couture’s Heart of Minky program to deliver baby blankets, pillowcases, and adult blankets to babies and families at Utah Valley Hospital.

The Heart of Minky is a donation-based program dedicated to bringing comfort to NICU babies and their families. Minky Couture makes monthly donations, and this holiday season the BYU men’s soccer team joined in to help make the deliveries.

Utah Valley Hospital parent support coordinator Lori Buss, who oversees the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, shared why these donations matter.

“I had a daughter that actually spent three and a half months in the NICU, so I know what it feels like to be a NICU mom. I know how hard it is and how much a small gift of cheer means,” Buss said. “So the fact that the BYU men’s soccer team has teamed up with Minky Couture to bring all kinds of gifts of cheer and comfort means the world, and our families will be so overwhelmed by the kindness.”

The team arrived wearing Santa hats, showing off their Christmas spirit and gratitude for the opportunity to serve.

Community members can contribute to the Heart of Minky program year-round by donating through the Minky Couture website or adding a donation at checkout.
